The first season left us with some unanswered questions, so let’s see what season 2 has in store for us!
Cheong San Is Coming Back
There is a big chance that Cheong San is coming back.
In an interview, the director revealed that he actually wrote the first season with the second season already in mind.
He planned out the story to continue, thinking about the whole gang’s future, with Cheong San included.
The last proper shot we see of him is him dramatically grabbing Gwi Nam’s body as they both jump down to escape the fire, and hopefully, Gwi Nam’s body worked as a shield for him.
Nam Ra denied smelling anyone in the area, but is not it just the heavy ashes that are covering Cheong San that could be masking his smell?
Another thing that gives the fans hope is Cheong San coming back as a mutated zombie since he was bitten by Gwi Nam during their final moments together.
Since it’s the determination to live that decides who turns into a hambie or into a monster, it is pretty safe to say Cheong San has enough will to live to become one.
However, if Cheong San survived, there is a big chance Gwi Nam is alive as well.
When the actor who plays Cheong San, Yoon Chan Young, got asked if his character is alive, he said that he doesn’t know, since no one told him yet.
But, he was in the announcement video of season 2, which once again points to his comeback.
Nam Ra Is Lying
The ending of season 1 introduced us to a hambie version of Nam Ra who tells the rest to come along as she wants to introduce them to “others like her”.
There are people online who believe that she is going to lure them into a trap and eventually feast on them all.
We all should be cautious of Nam Ra’s behavior, as we have no idea how much the virus infected her brain and thinking.
Since she is a part-time human, part-time zombie, who knows if the human part would be weak enough to betray her friends?
The director spilled that season 2 would contain way more plot twists, so this really could happen and would set the season off with a bang.
Hambies Overtaking The World
The first season was all about the start of the zombie outbreak and left us with more questions than we would expect.
The director of the show revealed that he laid the ground for season two while making season one.
He said:
“Many directions, settings and scenes were intentionally produced to expand the story into an additional season, including the introduction of the new races of zombies – immune and immortal. If the first season can be seen as having presented humanity’s survival, the next season can talk about the survival of zombies. I hope to present viewers with another season.”
Season 2 should give us an answer on what’s gonna happen with humanity, and more importantly, what is the true purpose of hambies.
Theories online said that the hambies might be vital in the look for the vaccine to stop the outbreak, since we do not know how bad the situation actually is in South Korea.
Another theory said that the military has taken zombies to laboratories to run tests on them, so who knows how if they are trying to turn the zombies back into humans, or using zombies as weapons.
Is Lee Byeong Chan alive?
Lee Byeong Chan’s death was not as epic as we would expect, and the last shot of him looking at the camera hinted at him being a hambie after all.
If he was one, would he try to find the cure as he tried in the first season?
Or would his morals completely change after the virus entered his body?
He already revealed that he found a way to destroy them, and that is with fire, but when his son and wife were found, the reports said that they nearly passed away from starvation.
Could that be another way of destroying the zombies?
