There are people in the industry you look up to who do not have the best record when it comes to fat shaming and objectifying of women. Let’s take a look at two actors who were accused of this.
Yoo Yeon Seok
Yoo Yeon Seok gained fans by acting in Hospital Playlist, Dr. Romantic and Mr. Sunshine, but it was his questionable comments about women that left a bad taste in the mouth of his fans.
During a press conference for his 2016 movie Mood Of The Day with his co-star Moon Chae Won, Yeon Seok was asked about what type of clothes he would like a woman to wear on a blind date.
To this simple question, he answered:
“Maybe see-through? If a woman was on a date with me, and she wore something like that, I’d think she was interested in me. If she’s covered up to her neck like a prude, I’d think she was disinterested.”
To that, his co-star Moon Chae Won added: “I wear a lot of turtlenecks.” which resulted in Yeon Seok replying in the worst way possible: “That’s why you are single.”
Not only was his co-star insulted, but he also angered his fans after this video started circulating online.
To this day, he has not apologized for his comments, so no one can be sure if his views changed.
