From a child actress to someone that is making everyone’s jaws drop with her talents, Park Eunbin has had a long and very eventful career that started when she was very young.
She was born on September 4, 1992 and started her career as an actress when she was only five years old.
Her first drama was not credited in IMDB, she shared that her career began with the drama “White Night 3.98” in 1996 with actors like Choi Minsoo and “Squid Game”s Lee Byunghun and Lee Jungjae.
Eunbin built her career playing the younger version of female leads in dramas like “Empress Myeongseong” in 2001 and “The Great Queen Seondeok” in 2009.
But starting off her career so early had its downsides. In an interview for the SBS show “My Ugly Duckling”, Eunbin shared that she was quite introverted as a child and the fact that she could not socialise with kids her age because of her job only made things harder.
She had to go to school and also work at the same time so she had no time to do things that other children did.
She then attended Sogang University back in 2011 and graduated from the psychology and media communication department, where she reportedly studied journalism but also continued her successful acting career.
Her first lead role came in the time travelling romance drama “Operation Proposal” but then got back to playing supportive characters.
Her career experienced a rise with “Hello My Twenties” and then an all time peak with “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”.
However, if there is one thing that people love about Eunbin is how dedicated she is to her job and the lengths she goes to portray her characters.
In 2020, she was cast in the musical drama “Do You Like Brahms?” as a violin student at a prestigious university.
Eunbin knew how to play violin as she had played in the past, but she had not played in a long time.
She discussed this with Vogue and explained that she had to re-learn to play the instrument for the drama.
Eunbin said that they tried to use computer graphics but it did not work so she took three months of lessons before she started filming
Even for “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”, she did a ton of research because she did not want to offend anyone with her portrayal.
She actually rejected the role twice but thankfully, the casting directors waited for her, certain that she would be the perfect Woo Youngwoo.
Eunbin said that she was afraid she might create prejudice so she “added Eun-bin’s sincerity to Young-woo’s sincerity”.
Additionally, she consulted with a professor in order to ask for advice on autism and ended up learning the general characteristics of people with autism.
Her dedication really paid off in the end. With the drama being praised from the public and critics alike, the cast have also got immense popularity because of it and especially Eunbin.
Throughout her career, she has been an advertising model for almost 20 companies like the Swiss luxury watchmaker Tissot, the Korean skincare brand Rataplan Seoul, The Face Shop and many others.
However, after her role on “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”, her celebrity value on the brand advertising market has skyrocketed to a new level.
Several industry insiders have claimed that Eunbin’s annual advertising modelling fees have pretty much doubled ever since the drama started airing.
Her modelling fee in the past was estimated to be around 200 million Korean Won annually but now, it means that it has jumped to a whooping 400 million Korean Won.
The demographics for the commercials she has appeared in has also changed.
A KGC Ginseng Corporation official explained that they first used Eunbin to attract younger consumers in their 20s and 30s but now that her popularity has grown, consumers in their 40s and 50s have also started to recognize Eunbin’s face in the ads.
Other brands have also explained that her pleasant image and stunning visuals pair well with any company and that is why brands are going to get in line to have her as a model.
