In order to fulfill his mandatory service, Kang Tae Oh recently left for the military.
It was anticipated that he would enlist at some point, but no precise date had been given by his agency.
All we knew was that his role in Extraordinary Attorney Woo would be his final activity before enlisting.
On August 31, he held a fan meetup on TikTok with MC JaeJae as the host of the event.
This fanmeet was organized so that he could interact with his global following a bit more before he left.
He wanted to personally announce his enlistment so that he was as transparent and close to his fans as possible.
He let his fans know he would start his service on September 20th.
He managed to get 3,3 million people watching his stream!
Tae Oh promised to perform the song Thank You by Kim Dong Ryul for them as a sign of gratitude when he returns.
He then thanked his followers for supporting him throughout the years and creating wonderful memories with him.
His label, Man of Creation, informed the public that he will receive basic training for roughly 4 weeks.
After completing his training, he will begin his 18-month active duty service at the 37th division recruit training center in Jeungpyeong County of North Chungcheong Province.
He is scheduled to be discharged sometime in March of 2024.
Prior to enlisting, Tae Oh posted on Instagram to reveal his new military-proof look.

In the pictures you can see he shaved his head and he is wearing a green outfit to really embody the spirit of enlisting.
His post reached a massive audience, gathering 1.3 million likes in 3 days.
Before he posted this, he also posted pictures of his reunion with the Run On cast.
The signs in the pictures show that they held this gathering in honor of his enlistment.

His last commercial was for Subway, in which he appeared as various personas of himself. One of them being a soldier!
While Tae Oh is away, his brand new movie Target will be released.
In the thriller he will play the role of a detective named Na.
When he gets discharged from the military, the Extraordinary Attorney Woo production team will be more than eager to welcome him back.
Ever since season 2 was confirmed, fans have been wondering how the crew will go about his extended absence.
