School 2020
Being the eighth drama in the “School” series, it has been planned to air in August.
While Kim Yo Han was confirmed as the male lead, the female lead casting was controversial and eventually resulted in the drama being canceled.
The drama was supposed to tell the story of a former taekwondo athlete who has transferred to a vocational high school after going through a severe injury.
First, Ahn Seo Hyun was reportedly in talks to star as the female lead.
About a month later, it was revealed Kim Sae Ron received the script and was being considered for the leading role.
Later on, Ahn Seo Hyun’s father claimed the production company had conducted under-the-table searches for another actress and had an intention of making her say she would not accept.
In response, the company stated they decided to not continue with her because of her father’s unreasonable demands.
Under these conflicts, KBS announced they decided to not air the drama.
Approaching the end of 2020, the drama changed to School 2021 with the same male but a new story.
The drama featuring Choi Yi Hyun as the female lead aired on 24th November.
