Around February 2020 it was announced that Seo Hyun would be taking up the lead role of the drama School 2020 together with Kim Yo Han.
However, on March 19, media reports announced that actress Kim Sae Ron had been offered the female lead role in School 2020.
Around the same time, Seo Hyun was seen sharing some cryptic messages on her Instagram account.
The following day, Ahn Seo Hyun’s side released an official statement confirming her departure from the drama.
But Seo Hyun’s father has a story to tell as well.
Her father claimed that the production team had secretly looked for another actress while Ahn Seo Hyun took part in script reading with Kim Yo Han and the director.
Although the production company has strongly denied the claims made by Seo Hyun’s father.
According to the company, her father’s unreasonable demands caused the contract signing to fall through.
But despite her father’s demands, the company still tried to cooperate at first for the sake of Ahn Seo Hyun but ended up not pursuing it.
After the controversy, KBS then decided to cancel the production of School 2020.
