Sweet Home had a grip on Kdrama and horror fans alike.
That’s why people were so excited when Netflix pulled through on June 15th, 2022, and announced the renewal for not one, but two more seasons!
Along with that, we got the confirmation that the filming of the seasons is already in progress.
It’s difficult to predict the plot for season 2, since the director wants the drama to differ from the original webtoon.
However, we will be looking forward to seeing what happened to Sang Wook and if Eun Hyuk managed to survive after all!
All of our faves are coming back to reprise their roles of the main characters, like Song Kang, Lee Jin Wook, and many more.
The upcoming seasons are bringing some newcomers, like Yoo Oh Seong playing Sergeant Tak In Hwan, the leader of the Special Forces Guard that is formed to protect the citizens from the monsters.
Another newcomer is Oh Jung Se, playing the role of Dr. Im, the researcher of the vaccines against the monsters.
Joining the cast will be Kim Moo Yeol as well in the role of Kim Young Hoo, a former UDT sergeant promoted to the Special Forces Guard where he is going to be second-in-command.
The new role of a soldier, Park Chan Young of the Special Forces Guard will be played by Jung Jin Young.
A rumored star guest for the second season was supposed to be BIBI, however, she decided to step back from the project.
Her company stated it’s because of a schedule conflict since BIBI has taken on another role and is currently filming that project.
The most difficult thing about making Sweet Home is the CGI editing that comes afterward the whole filming.
That’s why the release date is still uncertain. If the crew somehow manages to finish the filming by the end of 2022 before Song Kang’s military enlistment, we can probably expect the release sometime in the latter half of 2023.
