She debuted as a model and after her acting debut in 2003, quickly became one of the most in-demand child actresses in Korea.
In 2012, she rose to popularity through Moon Embracing the Sun. She starred in her first adult leading role in 2016’s Love in the Moonlight.
The achieved a peak audience rating and its popularity was referred to as “Moonlight Syndrome” and brought her that year’s most popular actress award and even more recognition.
