2015 – Yoon Eunhye
Yoon Eunhye faced a plagiarism issue in 2015.
She was accused of copying a piece from Korean fashion designer Yoon Choonho’s Fall/Winter line.
Yoon Choonho saw the copy of his work on an episode of “Goddess’ Fashion”, a Chinese fashion survival show.
Eunhye’s agency released a long statement to explain things but they put the blame on Choonho instead and said that he was using the actresses’ name to promote himself. A
fter the incident, netizens found other similarities between Eunhye’s work and other artists, until the issue got too big to ignore.
The public disliked her so much that Eunhye had to stay hidden for three years after the scandal.
She still finds it hard to receive projects and her career has not been the same since.
2016 – Kim Minhee
Kim Minhee shocked the industry when it was reported that she was having an extramarital affair with director Hong Sangsoo.
They met on the set of Sangsoo’s movie “Right Now, Wrong Then” and it was there when they fell in love and started an affair.
Considering that Minhee was 22 years younger than Sangsoo and that he had a wife and a child, the public was not very fond of them.
Due to the news, Sangsoo’s movies started doing terribly at the box office, getting very low domestic ratings and everytime the two were in public, they were met with extreme backlash.
The hate for the couple was so severe that even now, Minhee can only star in movies that are directed by Sangsoo.
2017 – Yoon Sonha
Yoon Sonha got into quite a big controversy due to her son.
The parents of a young boy put out a statement in 2013, saying that Sonha’s son along with a bunch of other kids had covered their child with blankets and then hit him repeatedly with a baseball bat.
Sonha released a statement of her own, saying that the kids were just playing with each-other and that the child that allegedly had been hurt, had only been pushed under layers of blankets for a few seconds.
She also claimed that the alleged victim was hit with plastic sticks covered in styrofoam and not baseball bats so injuries could not have been inflicted.
The public still demanded that the producers of “The Best Hit” remove her from the cast.
2018 – Go Hyunjung
Go Hyunjung’s attitude caused her to get a lot of hate from netizens.
When she returned to the small screen with a role in the drama “Return”, her comeback was highly anticipated and that led to high initial ratings for the show.
Midway through airing, Hyunjung was suddenly fired from the drama and replaced with another actress due to an argument she had with director Joo Dongmin on set over her screen time on the show.
This was no simple argument as she had started to curse at him, hitting him and then ordered the crew to stop filming, saying that she would not continue in the drama.
Because of this, SBS and the director, Joo Dongmin, refused to work with her. She has only starred in two series since then.
