2019 – Go Jonhee
When Burning Sun happened in 2019, an unnamed actress was mentioned in the initial report for taking drugs at the club, which started a witch hunt towards several actresses who netizens suspected to be involved with the scandal.
Actress Go Jonhee was especially mentioned several times, even being accused of being the actress that had not been able to provide services for Seungri’s foreign investors because she was in New York at the time.
She denied the rumors and filed lawsuits against the 12 netizens who had spread them.
Her image was heavily tainted and since she was not linked to any agency, she had to fight the malicious comments all on her own.
She opened up later on how much she suffered psychologically from all the hate comments she was getting on something she hadn’t even done.
2020 – Ahn Seohyun
Ahn Seohyun’s scandal was not as bad as the others but it still caused her to lose roles and receive hate.
She was originally cast as the female lead on the drama “School 2020” but was eventually replaced with another actress before the filming started.
At the time, Seohyun’s father said that she was unfairly removed from the drama while KBS claimed that she was let go because of her father’s excessive demands.
They said that they planned on keeping quiet about the issue but since Seohyun’s father started spreading false information, they had no choice but to clear up their name.
This is undeniably going to make it hard for Seohyun to get other roles in the future.
2021 – Seo Yeji
Seo Yeji was without a doubt one of the most hated celebrities in South Korea in 2021.
Dispatch came out with a report that she was controlling and manipulative to her ex-boyfriend, actor Kim Jung Hyung, to the point she demanded that the production team of one of Junghyung’s dramas had to change entire scenes because Yeji did not want him to interact with the female lead or any female staff.
Her career came crashing down as she started losing roles and having her variety show appearances cancelled.
She had quite a powerful comeback with the drama “Eve”, which despite the initial backlash, still did pretty great.
2022 – Kim Saeron
2022 was not a great year for actress Kim Saeron.
In May of this year, she was caught driving under the influence, which netizens sent her hate for, and is currently facing lawsuits from several production companies.
Her and her agency apologized for all the trouble that the incident caused and withdrew her from the drama “Trolley”.
She still did not pull out from her role in “Bloodhounds”, which put her in danger of being sued for possible losses and changes.
Sareon and her agency said that they are trying to resolve the problem and making sure that nothing like this happens again.
