Dispatch came out with quite an interesting report on Park Minyoung’s relationship on September 28.

They reported that Park Minyoung was in a relationship with the chairman of companies like Bithumb, KOSDAQ and KOSPI: Vidente, Inbiogen and Bucket Studio.

Dispatch took pictures of Minyoung going to work from Jonghyun’s villa quite often.

She also hung out with him on her days off, as she was seen going on a date with Jonghyun on August 3.

The very day, she went to meet Jonghyun’s parents and even shared a hug with his mother, hinting that the relationship was quite serious.

Dispatch also said that Minyoung signed with her agency Hook Entertainment because of Jonghyun’s involvement with Chorokbaem Media because Hook Entertainment is a subsidiary of Chorokbaem Media.

This one report focused more on Jonghyun’s past than the fact that he was in a relationship with Minyoung.

Based on what Dispatch found, he is an extremely wealthy man as he is the chairman of Bithumb, which is one of the largest crypto currency exchange platforms in South Korea.

He lives in a big, luxurious villa in Hannam the Holl and owns an impressive collection of expensive cars like Mercedes Maybach SUV, Mercedes Sprinter, Lamborghini, Bentley, and Rolls Royce which he often takes to visit luxury golf courses.

Dispatch also revealed that he bought Minyoung a Lamborghini Urus as a gift.

Here comes the fishy part.

Jonghyun is known as the hidden chairman of his multiple companies, as he is the largest shareholder and his sister, Kang Jiyeon, is the public chairman.

Dispatch found out that there is nothing registered to his name: no company, house or even a golf membership.

The reporters suspect that he is creating accounts using borrowed names and raised questions as to how he managed to raise funds for his companies.

Things became more suspicious as everyone at his company was hesitant to mention his name and kept bringing up his sister instead.

A company official from Vidente and Inbiogen even said:

“Chairman Kang Jong Hyun? Who’s that? There is only CEO Kang Ji Yeon here.”

Dispatch also discovered that after defrauding “A Capital Group” of $2.4 million, Jonghyun was charged for fraud and forgery of private documents back in 2013-2014.

He got a sentence of 3 years of probation and 80 hours of community service but did not learn his lesson as he defrauded two companies of around 10.5 million dollars in 2016.

After that, he completely vanished and then reappeared in 2020 as an extremely wealthy man.

This got Dispatch’s attention and made them start the investigation.

Minyoung got backlash after the Dispatch report came out and things only got worse once SBS came out on September 29 and said that Minyoung’s older sister holds the position of an outside director of INBIOGEN, one of the companies that Jonghyun is the chairman of.

Hook Entertainment then came out with a statement, letting the public know that Minyoung’s sister had resigned from her position and that the couple had actually broken up.

The public did not believe this, speculating that the agency lied so Minyoung could stop receiving backlash.

According to them, the relationship would not end so easily if they were serious about each-other.

Some people believe that Minyoung was not aware of her boyfriend’s past and was just as shocked by the revelation.

This is not all.

When the report was out, people pointed out that the artists under Artist Company, an entertainment agency founded by actors Lee Jungjae and Jung Woosung, had invested large sums of money into Bithumb, one of Jonghyun’s companies.

The company released a statement on September 29, denying everything.

They explained that the company’s former CEO had urged the artists to invest in the company Vidente Co. in 2017 after leading them to believe that it was a company for supplying filming equipment.

They insisted that the artists did not know that it was a company dedicated to blockchain technology, assuring the public that the investment funds were all withdrawn in 2018.
